Gadot Votes in Israel Election

More than 70,000 Israelis residing abroad returned to their home country on Tuesday to vote in the Knesset election. Among them was actress Gal Gadot, who shared a video on Instagram showing herself casting a ballot.

In the clip, Gadot spoke in Hebrew as she took an envelope into a voting booth. She described the act as exercising her most basic and important democratic right. She urged her followers to vote for whoever they believe in. The video ended with her blowing a kiss to the camera before posting a photo of her placing the envelope in the box.

Gadot expressed hope that Tuesday would bring a double blessing, referencing a Hebrew expression that ties the third day of creation to a period of special goodness. She said she hoped for only good things for all of them with God's help.

The actress lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jaron Varsano, and their four daughters. She is originally from Rosh HaAyin. On Monday, she was in Israel to receive an honorary doctorate from Bar Ilan University. The ceremony marked the university's 70th anniversary. U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff also received an honorary doctorate during the event.

During the award ceremony, Gadot spoke about the distance she feels between her home and how Israel is portrayed abroad. She noted that antisemitism is a persistent challenge. She called Israel her home and her people her family. She also addressed the importance of the upcoming vote.

Gadot called the election potentially the most momentous the country has seen in years. She said citizens must show up to exercise their civic right to vote according to their beliefs. She emphasized a sense of responsibility for the men and women who call the country home.

After the polls close on Tuesday night, Gadot is scheduled to appear on the comedy show Eretz Nehederet. She currently stars in the Prime Video thriller The Runner. She will also appear in the next film in the Fast and Furious franchise, titled Fast Forever.
